Loida Lewis took over the multi-billion dollar enterprise TLC Beatrice International after her husband Reginald’s passing and continued to steer the company to new heights. Her business acumen has brought it great financial success.
She served 10 years as General Attorney in the US Immigration and Naturalization Service and even co-authored How to Get A Green Card, which is currently on its 12th edition.
This established lawyer and businesswoman is also notably known as a generous philanthropist. Through the Reginald F. Lewis Foundation they have provided full scholarships to The Lewis College and micro-financing for thousands of Filipino families.
Her work in the community extends to co-founding three major organisations as well: Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, US Pinoys for Good Governance, and Global Filipino Diaspora Council. Lewis lends her legal expertise to these advocacies, having been the first Filipina lawyer to pass the New York state bar without attending law school in the US.
Lewis has two daughters and four grandchildren. Both daughters have accomplishments that are in their own league, with the two graduating cum laude from Harvard University.Awards
